Every service is designed to reduce fall risk and help seniors and people with disabilities live independently at home, installed professionally with care. Most services below are eligible under the BC RAHA grant.
Grab Bar Installation
Professional wall-mounted grab bars installed at the right height and angle for your needs. We use studs or wall anchors rated for 250+ lbs for maximum safety.
Curbless Shower Conversions
Convert a tub to a walk-in or wheel-in shower with a level, barrier-free entry, one of the highest-impact changes for safe, independent bathing.
Ramp Installation
Exterior ramps for entryways, interior ramps for level changes within the home, and threshold ramps for doorways, providing safe step-free access wherever it is needed.
Handrails & Threshold Modifications
Interior and exterior handrail installation along stairs and hallways, plus threshold modifications to remove trip hazards.
Lever Handle Replacements
Swap hard-to-grip round doorknobs and faucet handles for easy-to-operate lever handles, keyed and non-keyed options for doors, plus single-lever sink and kitchen faucets.
Non-Slip Solutions
Anti-slip strips, mats, and non-slip vinyl flooring for bathtub floors, shower floors, and bathroom tile, dramatically reducing fall risk on wet surfaces.
Handheld Showerheads
Flexible handheld showerheads with adjustable height brackets, allowing bathing while seated and reducing the need to stretch or twist.
Shower Seats & Benches
Wall-mounted, attached, or freestanding shower seats and transfer benches allowing safe seated bathing, ideal for those with balance, mobility or fatigue concerns.
Raised Toilet Seats & Frames
Raised toilet seats, toilet frames, and bidet conversions to reduce the strain of sitting down and standing up, a simple modification that makes a huge daily difference.
Bed Assist Rails
Secure bed rails to assist with safe transfers in and out of bed, reducing fall risk for those with limited mobility or balance concerns.
Cabinet & Drawer Hardware
Drawer glides for vanities and base cabinets, plus accessible-height switch, outlet, and thermostat relocation, small changes that make daily tasks easier to manage independently.
Quick Safety Fixes
Small but meaningful changes that reduce fall risk fast, often completed during the same visit as a larger installation:
- Securing loose area rugs with non-slip tape
- Closet rod height adjustments
- Furniture risers for chairs and beds
Lighting & Visibility Improvements
Battery-operated, wall-mounted motion-sensor night lights for hallways and bathrooms, no electrical wiring required. We also install brighter, easy-to-see fixtures where helpful to reduce fall risk in low-light areas.
BC RAHA Grant Support
We recommend a trusted Occupational Therapist for your home assessment, support you through the BC RAHA application, and handle the professional installation once approved. See how it works →

OT Home Assessment
An Occupational Therapist visits your home and assesses your needs. Don't have an OT? We're happy to recommend one from our trusted network.
Apply for BC RAHA
With the OT's assessment in hand, you (or your family) submit the BC RAHA application. We're glad to help guide you through this step.
Grant Approved
BC Housing reviews and approves your application, confirming which modifications are covered and your rebate amount.
